About 2026
Our Creative Careers event in 2026 will be hosted in 2 parts:
-
10am - 2:30pm: Schools & Colleges event
-
7:30 - 9pm: Public event
Our schools event will see 150 young people from schools and colleges across Solihull experience a range of exciting performances, panel discussions and workshops to build creative skills. Workshops will include a backstage tour of the theatre with a 'have a go' on the lighting & sound desks, an introduction to planning and producing your own projects, and a session focusing on freelancing and portfolio careers.
Our evening event will be taking a slight shift in format to focus on pathways and next steps for young people looking to access the creative industries. We are working with local FE providers and their alumni to share opportunities for creative courses at university level, in apprenticeships and more, and offer advice directly from the people that have done it themselves!
Confirmed universities and their alumnis include:
-
Birmingham University & Calico Theatre
-
DeMontfort University & Katie Holtom
-
With more to be announced!
