MY COMMUNITY, MY HERITAGE, MY PLACE

Children in Classroom

Solihull New Communities Festival ‘My Community, My Heritage, My Place’ will encourage children and young people to celebrate and share their cultural heritage through the arts.

The festival will work with 20 schools and youth groups across the borough, to celebrate place, community, and identity, culminating in a celebration event that brings them together.

The project is focusing on children and young people from Ukraine and Hong Kong in particular, supporting them to explore and share their identity and heritage.

All 20 schools will be coming together in a festival on 6th March 2024. This will be taking place at The Core Theatre from 1:30, providing the opportunity to celebrate, their work, connect, and feel part of a wider community!

This will include film screenings, live performances, activities and a gallery!

Schools Taking Part

VIRTUAL GALLERY

Workshops for this project run June 2023 - March 2024, so to keep up to date with what schools have been getting up to and when, we have created this handy virtual gallery!

The gallery features progress images and videos from each school as they complete their workshops, providing a space to connect all 20 schools together before the celebration event.

You can 'walk round' the gallery space in 3D and click into each room. Open up the gallery in full screen mode for a better experience.
