Solihull CEP are working in partnership with United by 2022 to develop and deliver 5 week-long workplace incubators, to give young people (aged 16-24) the opportunity to experience the creative industries.

What is an incubator?

In short, it is an intensive work experience opportunity, which is designed to mimic the pressures and opportunities of real careers in the creative and cultural industries.

The 5 incubators will be:
Theatre
Led by Calico Theatre

11th - 15th June
Visual Arts
Led by Art At The Heart

19th - 23rd August (with potential for 2nd week)
TV
Led by Caroline Officer
29th July - 2nd August
Film
Led by Tiger Features

14th - 18th October
Music
Led by Liz Birch
12th - 16th August

Each incubator will allow 8-10 young people (age 16-24) to collaborate.

Young people will be recruited from a diverse range of backgrounds from across Solihull.

A key aim of the project will be to maximise engagement from NEETS, Young People at risk of offending and those from lower socio-economic groups, so we will also be working with Youth services, Alternative Provisions and West Midlands Police to give the opportunity to harder to reach young people in the borough.

The project is being led by the Solihull CEP youth board and will be launched to young people at the CEP Careers Conference in April.

For more information on each incubator and the professionals leading them, read our detailed information pack:
