Home Ed Arts Month- June 2026

Solihull CEP understands the lack of arts provision available for home educated young people. We know there are lots of children and young people across Solihull who are electively home educated for a variety of reasons, and we are committed to supporting them to access high-quality arts opportunities within the borough.

June 2026 saw fully funded creative sessions, offering young people the chance to explore a wide range of artforms, including:

  • Film in a day with Tiger Features

  • Creative Movement with Giraffe Dance

  • Visual arts with Mark Riley

  • Introduction to DJing with Sophie Lou

  • Young Entrepreneurs with Katie Holtom

  • Glass with Melissas Melting Pot

The sessions were designed to provide access to creative experiences, equipment and specialist skills that may not otherwise be available at home.

Alongside supporting young people to develop confidence, creativity and new interests, the sessions also aimed to equip parents and carers with ideas and skills they can continue to build into their own home education practice, as well as connect with other parents and home education communities.

The workshops were accessed by 78 unique young people, and delivered across the Solihull borough:

  • Elmwood Family hub

  • Hatchford Brook Family hub

  • The Core Theatre

  • Chelmsley Wood Library

  • Solihull Lodge Community Association

​

These sessions were funded by the Arts Society Solihull.​
